Background:

The LIVE Project, supported by The Law Foundation of Ontario, empowers Ontario’s underserved communities—particularly survivors of atrocity crimes from different communities through accessible legal education. The Law Foundation Ontario, dedicated to advancing access to justice, provides funding to initiatives that support legal education, research, and services for marginalized populations. Through a series of community-based seminars, the LIVE Project equips participants with knowledge of Canadian legal rights, international human rights laws, and avenues for justice. These seminars aim to build confidence, enhance legal literacy, and foster a sense of empowerment by addressing real legal needs and providing practical tools for advocacy and navigating the legal system. LIVE brings together a diverse team of legal educators, researchers, and community advocates who work closely with victims to ensure all content is culturally relevant, legally accurate, and empowering.
